The questions were:
“Who can name those knots?”
and
“Ok im still new to this Scouting…why doesnt Chief Scout Exec Bob Mazzuca have a CSP on his uniform…i have noticed it on several pics i have seen of him???:-) “
To answer Chad’s question, our National Commissioner Tico Perez is wearing the knot insignia representing the Silver Buffalo, Boyce Organizer Award, Speakers Bank, Silver Antelope, UPSIDE DOWN (Tico, you need to fix that — you’re the BSA’s National COMMISSIONER, for goodness sake!! *smiling*) Whitney Young Rural/Urban Emphasis Award, the OA Distinguished Service Award, Silver Beaver, Eagle, and James West Fellowship Awards.
And our Chief Scout Executive is wearing the knot insignia representing his Eagle Scout, adult religious emblem, and the Professional Circle (Training) Award.
You can see all of those by going to http://www.scoutinsignia.com/recknot.htm
The reason why Chief Bob doesn’t wear a CSP…because the BSA doesn’t have a “National Council” CSP any more. Tico (like our National President and all other volunteers) is registered with a local Council; the BSA’s Chief Scout Executive is registered with the *National Council*. There *used to be* a National Council CSP…it didn’t last long. Most National office staffers do NOT wear a CSP — just the position emblem (and most of them wear the National Executive Staff insignia).
That’s a *great* question, Debbie and Chad…thanks for asking!!
